Daniel founded the Better Blood Project after years of wanting to do more with life that would allow him to help others while striving to find a greater sense of purpose. Life circumstances created an opportunity for him to create something that could not only utilize his own struggles, but allowed him to apply them for the greater good.
Daniel, a long time North Carolinian transplant from the Buffalo, NY area, started his career "down south" working in various elementary and k-12 schools in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. After a number of years, he transitioned to work in the nonprofit sector with the Durham Children's Initiative where he coordinated various after school, weekend, and summer programs. During the pandemic, Daniel found himself back in education working as a private teacher and pod leader for students and families throughout Chapel Hill.
He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, and a graduate degree from North Carolina State University. When he isn't nonprofitting with the Better Blood Project, you can most likely find him riding his bike, being a dad, or starting a mirepoix.
